Father: बुबा (Buba)
A father is a male parent who has contributed half of the genetic material to his offspring through conception.
Mother: आमा (Ama)
A mother who gave birth to you came into this in world. She contributes half of the genetic material to her offspring.
Brother: दाजु (Daju) – Older Brother, भाइ (Bhai) – Younger Brother
A younger brother is a younger male sibling compared to a brother. He is born after his older sibling.
Sister: दिदी (Didi) – Older Sister, बहिनी (Bahini) – Younger Sister
A younger sister is a female sibling who is younger compared to a sister. She is born after her older sibling.

Grandfather: हजुरबुबा (Hajur Buba)
The father of one’s parent. This can be the father of one’s mother (maternal grandfather) or the father of one’s father
Grandmother: हजुरआमा (Hajur Ama)
The mother of one’s parent. This can be the mother of one’s mother (maternal grandmother) or the mother of one’s father
Son: छोरा (Chhora)
A male child about his parents. He is the offspring of his mother and father.
Daughter: छोरी (Chhori)
A female offspring born to her parents. She is the biological child of her mother and father.
Nephew: भतिजो (Bhatijo)& Niece: भतिजी (Bhatiji)
The son of one’s brother or sister. This can be the son of a full sibling or a half-sibling & a daughter of one’s sibling. In other words, if you have a brother or sister and they have a daughter, that daughter is your niece.
Cousin: दाजुभाइ/दिदीबहिनी (Daju Bhai/Didi Bahini) – used for both male and female cousins

Husband: श्रीमान (Shriman)
A husband is a male partner in a marital relationship. He is legally married to his wife and shares a committed and often romantic partnership with her.
Wife: श्रीमती (Shrimati)
A wife is legally bound to her husband through marriage, which includes rights and responsibilities such as mutual support, and fidelity, and often includes joint property and financial obligations.
