A linking verb is a verb that connects ideas or describes a subject without showing an action. Verbs like “to be”, “seems”, “appears”, or other verbs that reference the five senses are linking verbs. “That smells good.” “The cactus feels spiky.” It is an idea. This verb makes alot sense in a sentences. Linking verb लाई नेपालीमा “सामंजस्य गर्ने क्रिया” वा “जोड्ने क्रिया” भनिन्छ। यो क्रियाले वाक्यमा विषय (subject) र वर्णन (predicate) बीच सम्बन्ध स्थापना गर्छ। Linking verb ले कुनै क्रियाकलाप नभई विषयको अवस्था, अवस्था वा पहिचान बताउँछ।
General Structure:
Subject + Linking Verb + Subject Complement विषय + लिङ्क क्रिया + विषय पूरक Viṣaya + liṅka kriyā + viṣaya pūraka
- Subject: The person or thing the sentence is about. वाक्य वा वस्तुको बारेमा हो।/Vakya va vastuko barema ho.
- Linking Verb: A verb that links the subject to the complement (e.g., is, are, was, seem).एक क्रिया जसले विषयलाई पूरकसँग जोड्दछ (जस्तै, हो, हो, थियो, जस्तो)। Eka kriya jasale visayalai purakasamga joddacha(jastai,ho,ho,thyo,jasto).
- Subject Complement: The information about the subject (can be a noun, pronoun, or adjective).विषयको बारेमा जानकारी (संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, वा विशेषण हुन सक्छ)।Viṣayakō bārēmā jānakārī (san̄jñā, sarvanāma, vā viśēṣaṇa huna sakcha).
